Poet Voices (1991-2002, 2004-2007, 2017-Present)
History
Phil Cross & Poet Voices was launched in 1991 as a trio with tenor singer Dale Brock and baritone Harold Stewart joined Phil Cross in the new venture.
Cross was already well-known as a songwriter at this point in no small part due to the success of "Champion Of Love" which was a hit for the Cathedrals. Poet Voices soon found success with their song "Jesus Built A Bridge" which held the number one position on the Singing News airplay chart from December 1993 to February 1994.
Brock left in 1994 but would return in 1999 after relatively short stints by Tony Jarman, Milan Klipa, and Nic Holland at the tenor spot.

During Brock's absence, Poet Voices had added pianist Channing Eleton in 1995 and expanded to a quartet format in 1996 with the addition of bass singer Mike Allen. They also celebrated their second number one song, "I Am Redeemed," for two months in May 1998 and June 1998.
