Gagan Khoda's story is one of copious amounts of talent, but rotten luck.
Khoda was a right-handed opening batsman hailing from Rajasthan who was the talk of his town when he exhibited precocious talent at the junior level and drew comparisons with Sachin Tendulkar after scoring a hundred on Ranji debut in the 1991/92 season.
As he continued to pile on the runs in the domestic circuit, he peaked with a marathon 237 in the 1994/95 Ranji quarter-final which exhibited character and grit - two of the most valuable traits of a classical Test opener. However, in the cricketing backwaters of Rajasthan, Khoda simply couldn't establish himself and rise above the choking powers of regional bias in the Indian dome
